The Hungarian Association of Competition Law was established in 1993, only three years after the major political and economic changes in Hungary. The main goals of the association are the promotion of competition culture and the protection of consumers' interest. The Association has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the Ministry of Justice and maintains a good professional relationship with the Hungarian Competition Authority. The individual and corporate members of the Association actively participate in the public consultations about the various draft legislation and soft laws which are related to the protection of fair competition in the Hungarian market and in the common market of the European Union. The Association organized the annual congresses of LIDC in Budapest in 2004 and 2018.
