The LIDC will be holding a joint lunchtime webinar with the CLA on Tuesday 11 July 2023 at 1:00 pm (CET) / midday (UK). Martin Farley, a member of the Legal Service of the European Commission, Natura Gràcia and Jacques Derenne have kindly agreed to speak on the subject of the Foreign Subsidy Control Regime: reflections from the UK and Europe. The Implementing Regulation will have been adopted shortly before the webinar (the ex-officio investigation powers of the European Commission will be applicable as of 12 July 2023) and it will be the best opportunity for Martin Farley, having contributed to the legal review of this new EU Foreign Subsidy Control regime, to describe the rules and comment on them. Natura Gràcia and Jacques Derenne will share then their reflections on the new subsidy control regime, including the theories of harm underpinning the regime, the significance of this policy development, its interaction with other legal areas and its practical implications for businesses. The session will be moderated by Christophe Rapin (LIDC President).
