Work experience
Peter’s practice of European law includes defending clients before the Court of Justice, the Court of First Instance, the European Commission (including the Merger Task Force), the Belgian national courts, and administrative authorities (regarding amongst others the free movement of goods, services and capital, mergers, cartel arrangements, state aid, EU contract litigation, and various EU Directives and Regulations). Peter also frequently advises on Belgian competition law matters and assists clients in the structuring of takeovers, joint ventures, and contracts. He represents clients in the notification of contracts and concentrations, and in complaints and procedures before the Belgian Competition Authority (Autorité belge de la Concurrence / Belgische Mededingingsautoriteit) and Belgian courts and tribunals.

Peter Wytinck has written numerous articles for leading Belgian and European law reviews on Belgian and EU law. He is also co-author of a number of books, including books on the EU Merger Regulation, Belgian competition law, and trade practices. As a member of the Belgian delegation, Peter presented two reports on the implementation of specific EU legislation in Belgium at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) in 1990 and 1992.
