After a long three year pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Czech LIDC group organized a conference in Prague on November 8, 2022 which has been focused on the actual topics of the IP Law as a part of the Unfair Competition.
Many interesting presentations were given during this annual national conference. The speakers talked about hot topics such as sustainability within IP and competition law which was presented by this year’s national reporter of the Czech LIDC group, i.e. by Ms. Radka MacGregor Pelikánová from the Metropilitan University in Prague.
The national conference was also enriched by Mr. Roman Horáček, vice-chairman of the Senate of the High Court in Prague who presented the current decision-making practice of the Court regarding this topic.
The presentation day have been also followed by an interesting discussion on the topic of the current and upcoming adjustments to the geographical indications and designations of origin in the European context which was led by Ms. Andrea Šprunglová, Head of the legal department in the Czech Industrial Property Office.
Final conference time has been given to Mr. Dominik Bajger who is the Communication Officer of the LIDC newly created subgroup called LIDC – NEX GEN. He has provided the audience with the NEX GEN organization information and presented the goals and promotion of the NEX GEN section and how to bring the whole LIDC group to younger colleagues at the international as well as at the national level.
